About Rebecca

Hi, friends!

Thank you so much for being here. My name is Rebecca, also known as “Bex”. I am a wife to Tyler, dog mama to Duke, and the artist and designer of Rebecca McKenzie Designs! Our little family currently resides in Huntsville, Alabama.

My love for art began when I was a little girl living in Madison, Mississippi. I remember participating in summer art camps every chance I got and was ecstatic to take my paintings home, frame them, and hang the pieces on my bedroom walls. In grade school, my “time to shine” was always a project that included something creative! The seeds that were planted in my earlier years finally sprouted when I was in college at The University of Alabama.

During my sophomore year as an Apparel and Textiles major, I picked painting back up as a restorative and relaxing hobby. Little did I know the healing work in my heart that the Lord was doing with each brush stroke! This hobby turned into a “side hustle” that year, and continued through out my entire college career as I completed my MBA in the spring of 2020. After graduating that spring, and getting married in May, Tyler and I moved to Nashville, Tennessee where I expected to begin a professional corporate career. God had other plans…

One morning in Nashville, I was spending time with the Lord when I heard him say to pursue this business full time! It took several months for me to take that step of obedience, but I finally said “yes” in the summer of 2021, and I have never looked back.

It is amazing for me to step back and see what He has done over the past several years. A simple hobby turned into a complete healing journey. A side hustle turned into a full time business. Painting for fun turned into creating original fine art and home products for customers. A business turned into a ministry where I get to share God’s faithfulness and love with others! All of it is a testament to the goodness of God. I look forward to seeing what the next 5 years have in store. Thank you for coming along for the journey!
